Amidst the challenges of the pandemic (2021), an extraordinary online event unfolded, blending the virtuosity of Belgian classical guitarist Sam Desmet with the culinary artistry of Bistro Berto, helmed by Chef David Bertolozzi.

This unique experience transcended geographical constraints, bringing together (musical) flavors and enthusiasts from around the world for an evening that tantalized the senses.

The event served as a testament to the resilience of creativity and the power of technology to connect us all in the pursuit of beauty while sharing cultural experiences.

The Food

The culinary adventure commenced with a tantalizing starter featuring Carpaccio & cannelloni from North Sea fish, complemented by shrimp and a buttermilk vinaigrette. The main course unfolded as a symphony of flavors, with succulent veal, spring vegetables, gratin potato, and a thyme-infused sauce. Culminating on a sweet note, the dessert was a delightful homemade apple pie, adding the perfect finale to the culinary masterpiece.

Simultaneously, Sam Desmet’s online concert transported participants across continents through virtuosic repertoire spanning Cuban, Chilean, Brazilian, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese music from the last 100 years. The harmonious fusion of music and gastronomy flavors created an immersive experience, offering solace and joy during these challenging times.
